How we use your information

Fab Science is committed to protecting the privacy of the information you share with us. This privacy policy sets out how we will process and use any personal data that you provide to us, either directly or indirectly.

Information we may collect about you:
We may collect the following information. Information you give to us by filling out any forms on www.fabscience.co.uk, including through the external booking system, Class4Kids and mailing list management, Mailchimp. While using the website, we may collect information that does not directly identify you, through placement of cookies. Please see section on cookies below. We will keep a record of any enquiries made to us by email, telephone, social media, messaging services, forms filled in at events or post. This information could include your personal data and that of your children when booking events. We may also collect details of medical conditions and special educational needs where this is necessary for the safe delivery of children’s events. While in most cases personal data will be stored only electronically; medical information and emergency contact details may be printed and kept easily accessible by staff during events. Your personal data
Any data that we collect may be stored at, and transferred to, a destination outside the European Economic Area. In submitting your personal data, you agree to such a transfer and the storing and processing of this data. While we take every care to protect your data, transmission of data can never be guaranteed to be completely secure. We may store your personal data for as long as you are a customer or we believe you to have an ongoing interest in Fab Science. You may request the removal of your data by contacting dpo@fabscience.co.uk. Some information may be retained longer to comply with HMRC, Ofsted, HSE or other regulations.

Using the information
The information will be used to: respond to your enquiry, provide appropriate services and comply with regulatory frameworks such as Ofsted. We may also notify you of goods and services that we feel may be of interest to you. You may opt out of further notifications at any time by using the ‘unsubscribe’ link on Mailchimp-generated emails or by emailing unsubscribe@fabscience.co.uk. We will not sell your data but may share with third party service providers for the purposes of data storage, mailing services, processing payments and providing services as requested. We may disclose information at any time if required by law.

Photographic and biometric data
We request parental consent for photography at camps. If consent is given when booking, we may use images in marketing materials; both digital and printed. We will never publish children’s names alongside the images. We do not take responsibility for images uploaded to our social media platforms by third parties. We currently have no plans to store any biometric data.

Cookies

A cookie is a small piece of information that is placed on your computer when you visit certain websites. When we refer to “cookies” we include other technologies with similar purposes, such as tags and identifiers. Find out more about the use of cookies on http://www.cookiecentral.com/.

When you first visit our site using a new browser, or if you visit in private browsing mode, we will provide you with a cookies permission banner seeking your consent to use of cookies as required by law. By clicking OK or clicking through to any part of the site, we will start to manage your visit using cookies.

We use the following types of cookie, as will your browser:

(1) Analytics cookies that anonymously remember your computer or mobile device when you visit our website. They keep track of browsing patterns and help us to build up a profile of how our customers use the website. We use that information for customer analytics. Your browser may use similar cookies for similar purposes and to serve advertisements for others.

(2) Service cookies that help us to make our website work as efficiently as possible; to detect what device you are using and adapt how we present our site according to the screen size of that device.

Third party websites
We use Class4Kids to manage our camp and workshop bookings, Stripe for card payments and Mailchimp to manage our mailing list. Each of these can be accessed via links on www.fabscience.co.uk. We recommend that you review the privacy policies of each of these sites before submitting your data. From time to time, we may provide links to other third party websites. We do not accept responsibility or liability for the privacy policies or procedures of any third party websites.
