Holiday camps

Five hours of Fab Science fun for your young scientists

5 HOURS OF INVESTIGATING, EXPERIMENTING AND SCIENCE FUN IN THE HOLIDAYS

Each school holiday we bring a different theme to our venues in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertford, St Albans, Saffron Walden and Cambridge. We’ve had the best of biology, the coolest chemistry and the most fantastic physics.

We’re taking a break over Christmas but will be opening booking for February half term 2025 soon…watch this space.

Fab Science camps were voted ‘Best Holiday Club’ in our region in the Hoop Awards. Come along and find out why!

All camps are open to children aged 5-11 from any school (or none!).

“My 8 year old daughter had a truly wonderful day at the Fab Science Easter workshop . There has been non stop chatter since I picked her up about all the practical experiments and detailing what she has learned and the new friends she made – not to mention how lovely Emma and her team are. Thank you Fab Science!”

WHAT IS INCLUDED?

We provide all of the experiments, equipment and safety goggles. Your mini-scientist may bring home some of their creations, as well as ideas on ‘kitchen science’ to do at home.

HOW MUCH DO THE CAMPS COST?

Each camp is £37 for the day. We offer a sibling discount: each additional child booked has a 10% discount. All children need to be booked at the same time for the discount to applied automatically, if you need to add another child later, please get in touch and we can add the discount for you.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

A packed lunch, snacks and a water bottle, please make sure this is in a named bag and do not include any foods containing nuts.

Please remember that science can get messy so please wear clothes that you don’t mind being ‘experimented’ in! We often do experiments outside and always try to get outside at break times, so don’t forget coats/hats/sun cream…whatever you think the British weather might throw at us!

We can’t take responsibility for any items that are brought to camps so please leave electronics and precious teddies at home.

WHEN AND WHERE ARE THE CAMPS?

MY CHILD HAS SEN, WILL THEY BE SUPPORTED AT THE CAMP?

Absolutely! All of our leaders have experience working with kids with a range of additional needs. It is really important that you let us know when booking though so that we can tailor the activities to your child. Please note that while we have high staff ratios and the children work in small groups, we cannot provide dedicated one-to-one support. If you have any questions about how we can work with your young scientist, please do get in touch.

ARE THE ACTIVITIES SAFE?

All of our experiments are specifically chosen to be kid-safe. We use child-friendly materials and have safety goggles for volcanic ‘eruptions’ etc. While we do not use anything toxic, we do make sure that children know that they mustn’t eat anything in the ‘lab’. Our leaders are DBS checked and we have insurance for £5million (never used!). We always have first aid trained staff at camps.

WHAT TIMES DO THE CAMPS RUN?

All camps run 10am to 3pm. We have a break in the morning and for lunch. We operate staggered drop off and pick up to minimise queuing at the beginning and end of the day.

WHAT IF I CAN’T MAKE IT?

Unfortunately we can’t offer refunds for cancellations but you can switch the place to another child if you have a friend who would like to come. We just ask that we have a new online booking completed for the new attendee before the event (and obviously they are in the right age range!). Please get in touch as soon as possible to arrange this.
